Solution: New Sylglas Anti-Slip Tape can help to reduce accidents around  the home or garden.

Everyone has steps or pathways and even decking areas around the house where people can potentially slip and lose their footing.

Suitable for smooth surfaces only. Not suitable for grooved decking, the tape must be in full contact with the surface it is to be applied to, across the complete width of the tape with no gaps or voids

The elderly, disabled and children are more at risk of slips and trips leading to serious injuries in some cases, if no action is taken.

How To ......

Store material in warm dry conditions until ready for use. Ensure the surface is above 10°C and is clean, dry and free from any contamination or greasy residues, all porous surfaces should be sealed prior to application using a good quality undercoat or emulsion paint.

N.B. Allow the undercoat to dry, if applied, completely before applying tape.

Measure the area the tape is to be applied to and cut to length. Rounding off the corners of the tape may extend the products life; this should be done before applying the tape to the surface and with the release paper intact.

Anti-Slip Tape Range

1. Peel back 50mm of the release liner and firmly press the adhesive side of the tape onto the prepared surface.

 
2. Progressively remove the remainder of the release liner and apply the tape, ensuring not to contaminate the adhesive surface with dust or finger marks during this process.
 
3. Do not stretch or tension the tape, press down firmly using even pressure, a hand roller may be used for this purpose. On steps and nosing’s set back at least 12mm from the edge to prevent premature wear.
 
The tape can be walked on immediately and will be fully bonded after 48 hours.

To ensure continued anti-slip effectiveness, periodic inspections should be carried out and new strips re-applied in the event of wear/damage or the items have disbonded or been affected by day to day use and service conditions.
